Hello & Welcome!

You're here. You made it. But why?

Back in September, after about two months of virtual teaching in the new school year, I found myself bogged down with all the negativity on social media. Pandemic related, election related, and what hit home the most...teaching related.

At that point, I told myself I needed to get off social media. Cut the ties and reevaluate my time. While I did use certain aspects of Facebook and Instagram to glean creative ideas for my classroom, I found myself down the rabbit hole of comparison more often than not.

But that was September, it's now the end of December. What happened?

Welp. I had a logo designed, got super excited about it and then, ultimately, the nerves set in. Who cares about what I have to say? Who am I even writing this for? What if people hate it?

To all those questions, I finally had a few choice words and bit the bullet. Ultimately, I'm writing this for ME. I've used social media to document some of my life in pictures and occasional bits of writing. But what I've found myself longing for is the ability to chronicle my thoughts. Some deep, some trivial, and all sorts of in between.

So if you're here, THANK YOU. Thank you for giving "The Prismatic Pencil Box" a chance. I hope you enjoy even a bit of what I have to say as you follow my thoughts from the classroom, to home, to my journey with faith and ultimately finding myself more.
